Volcano Models

Our Volcano Models

First, we cut out basic shapes that would become the structure of our volcano model and stuck the correct pieces together. We 'cut' a quarter out of our model to show the layers of the volcano later on in the finished model.  Next we used scrunched up A4 paper in the model to give us the volcano’s shape.

After that, we put on a few layers of papièr mache. Once that had dried we put paper shreddings in diluted glue and carefully placed lumps onto the model. This would be our lava.

Soon it dried and we were able to paint our models.

Then the ash cloud had to be made. We used some garden wire to create the ash cloud’s shape. The garden wire had to be covered in different coloured tissue paper. Then we drilled a hole in the top of our volcano and stuck the ash cloud in.

After doing that we had to type up our labels. Finally we stuck them on.
