In February, the year 3s had an Egyptian themed day. This educational event led to some euphoric young students! Dressed in some amazing Egyptian costumes, they had no idea they were going to have so much fun.
The purpose of this day was to give the year 3s more information about their topic - the ancient Egyptians. They could hardly keep still as they lined up to the main hall to meet the special visitors. These expert Egyptologists were dressed up as an Egyptian Pharaoh and Queen, explaining interesting and important history to the students.
As they were learning, the Year 3s were split up into table groups to do their fun activities. Some of the favourites included making their very own clay pots, delicious – looking fake bread and fascinating hieroglyphics. By far the most popular activity was the grand feast because the food looked so attractive they almost forgot that it wasn’t real.
“We learnt about the river Nile and kings and queens!” said Elijah from 3A.
In the end everyone went home feeling tired but happy having explored so much about Egyptian history. Over all, everybody gave the day an incredible 10/10!
