Hockey Success
U11 Kent Cup Hockey Championships, Canterbury
On Tuesday 31st January, ten boys from Years 5 & 6 competed in a hockey tournament at Kent College Senior School, Canterbury.
Even though our first match ended in a 1-1 draw we had more possession and more shots on target, but ultimately it’s the ball in the goal that makes a win.
Both of our next games ended in a brilliant 10-1 wins. This meant that we had won our group matches and were through to the semi-finals.
This 4th match was our toughest, with the boys having to play a really tight match. We conceded 2 goals but managed to score 5, which put us through to the final.
After a tense start in the final match, we managed to score the first goal, but we needed another to ensure the win. With time ticking, our brilliant defenders and goalie managed to keep the opposition from scoring. The final score ended up being 3-0 to SPS.
The team will now go through to the South Regional Championships in March - well done!
A brilliant tournament and Sevenoaks Primary School boys rightly deserve their win. Congratulations.
A magnificent effort from our team: Charlie, Sam R, Ben, William, Michael, Ben, Jack, Sam W, Joe H and Joe C.
