Mr Duffy's Challenge Success

HUGE congratulations to Mr Duffy & all the walkers who accompanied him on his 50-mile walk to raise money for the new build and promote the KM Walk to School campaign.

HUGE congratulations to Mr Duffy & all the walkers who accompanied him on his 50-mile walk to raise money for the new build and promote the KM Walk to School campaign!

Mr Duffy and Mr Newman, accompanied by a happy band along the way, successfully completed their 50 mile walk to promote our KM Walk to School campaign and raise money for the new build. In the end the total mileage actually came to 55 miles, an amazing acheivement!

The reception received from each of the schools visited along the way came as a lovely surprise. The children came out to greet them in numbers and treated them as celebrities for the day. It provided a welcome boost as energy levels began to flag. Obviously the best reception was from the children at Sevenoaks Primary School and the walkers were all genuinely moved by their welcome.

Thank you also to all of the supporters who joined in for different stages of the walk. They included: Tony Holmes who, despite the blisters, did not moan at all; Steve Brightman, Lizzie Bourne, Jo Wildman, Tony and Janet Shea, Katy Holmes, Pui Jellett, Steve Collins, Simon Hooper, Paul Doleman, Melanie and Sophie McInerney, Kerry Mayes, Rob Romanis, Charlie Dark, Richard Gray.

Freddie, Ollie, Maddie and Hannah T and Jessica and Hannah D walked the last leg from Otford to complete the voyage to a triumphant, if painful return to Sevenoaks Primary.

A big thank to Sue Thompson who coordinated the challenge and acted as a one woman support team for the two days.

The sponsorship is still being collected (it is not too late to contribute) and the funds have been boosted by a contribution of £750 donated by Ibbett Mosely and match funding for this challenge from Hand Picked Hotels.

Currently the figure stands at £6336.53 – an outstanding amount, a massive thank you all for your support.
