Sensory Garden Pond Project Update

School Pond: Kent Year of Green Action
School Pond: Kent Year of Green Action
You may have spotted our new school pond!
Kent County Council’s Kent Environment Strategy focuses on the environment, health and the economy.
The aim is to encourage communities to protect and enhance their environment and the creation of a wildlife pond is one example of this.
A huge thank you to the staff and volunteers from North West Kent Countryside Partnership who worked in all weathers (mostly wet!) to create our own, SPS wildlife pond. They were ably assisted by Hassan, Emma, Esme, Alex, Dana and Riley from Year 6, as well as parent volunteers – thank you, everyone! Thank you also to Mrs Ratcliffe for organising the event on behalf of SPS.
To celebrate the completion of the pond, special guests were invited to the school on Wednesday, 6th February, including representatives from KCC. You can read more about the event via School children dip into Kent Year of Green Action - KCC Media Hub
