SPS Tennis Tournament Success

Kent Team Competition - 26.05.17
Three teams from SPS competed in two tennis tournaments at the Kent Team Competition.
Tennis Success
On 26th May, two teams traveled to Bromley High School to compete in the boys’ orange ball Kent Schools Team Competition. Both teams performed fantastically with Sevenoaks 1 reaching the final. The team completed a great day by beating Lady Joanna Thornhill 4-2 and were duly crowned county champions!
Players’ success on the court was only matched by praise off the court by organisers and rivals alike for their sportsmanship, fair play and kindness. A special thank you goes to Mr Norburn who stepped in at the last minute as a team leader.
The afternoon saw the green ball team take to the court. Again, all the players performed exceptionally well. Everyone contributed to a great team ethos, no more so than during the 3-3 draw with St Michael’s which was won by just 3 points on count back. This helped the team win through to the final where they narrowly missed out to St Stephen’s in a close, competitive match.
Congratulations to all the boys.
The teams were;
Sevenoaks 1 - Ollie, Sam, Jack & William
Sevenoaks 2 - Danny, Andrew, Alfie & Emile
Sevenoaks 1 - Stefan, CharlieB, CharlieH & Angus
