Dear Parents and Carers,

I cannot believe that we are entering the final week of Term. It has been a fantastic Term, with so much to celebrate, including all of our fabulous Christmas events. We enjoyed the brilliant Christmas Bazaar and we have seen some wonderful Nativities, too. It is a privilege to be in school during the Christmas period, as children make this time of year so magical.

We have also spent some time reflecting on how lucky we are: with Kindness being our focus value this Term, we decided to donate to Crisis at Christmas and, as a result, I am really pleased to say that we have raised over £400 so far. Thank you so much for your generosity - it is important that we always remember what we are grateful for at this time of year.

Finally, I hope that you get to spend some time with the people that you care about during the Christmas break and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in January, as we begin a new year together, at Sevenoaks Primary School.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support; this is truly appreciated.

Best wishes for a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
Mrs Malone
Head Teacher

We would love to provide our Phase 1 children with ride-on toys at break-time e.g. scooters, cars, trikes, etc. If you have any good-quality toys that you are happy to donate to SPS, please bring them to your child’s class teacher who will gladly take them off your hands!

Thank you.

Staff Update: Hello and Goodbye

It is that time of year where we welcome some new staff to our fabulous school and also say thank you and goodbye to others.

We say goodbye to Mrs Alexander, Mrs Barker and Mrs Perkins from our teaching team. They have been here for many years and I know that you will join with us all in thanking them for their hard work and contribution to our school. We welcome Mr Clarke-Serret, Miss Tate and Mr Jenkins to our teaching team: they are all experienced teachers and we know that you will make them feel very welcome.

We also say goodbye to Mrs Holmes and Mrs H-R as they both move on to new roles. We will again thank them for their hard work and contribution and wish everyone well for the future. We also look forward to welcoming Mrs White and Mrs Rodgers to our support team in January – they are delighted to be joining us.

House Point Winners!

The following Houses have won the most house points this term:

Phase 2:           ROWLING
Phase 3:           ROWLING

Well done! Rowling house mates in Phases 2 and 3 are invited to wear their own clothes all day, on Tuesday 17th December.

Lost Property

As we approach the end of Term 2, we have accumulated a number of unclaimed lost property items.

These will be displayed on tables outside the entrance to the main building on Tuesday 17th December and Wednesday 18th December for parents/carers to claim. Any leftover items will be disposed of.

Thank you.

Well-being Ambassadors: Exciting New Profile for our A-Team

A few years ago, we received training from the Diana Awards, to enable a body of students to be Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, who became known as the A-Team. We have decided to build on the fantastic work of the A-Team, by introducing the Well-being Ambassadors, who will promote well-being in a more general sense, including anti-bullying.

The Well-being Ambassadors (WAs), a team of volunteer pupils (elected by their classmates), will be receiving bespoke training in order to equip them with the necessary skills to listen and take action, by getting an incident reported and relevant help sought. They will also help to promote the six ways to well-being within our school: six ways to wellbeing

The Ambassadors will be supported by a number of members of staff, in order to carry out their role. They will be trained by Mrs Moore (Well-being Coach for the school) and also have regular sessions with Mrs Wright, Mrs Lopez and Mrs Hughes, who will work with the pupils to promote the work they do in school through events and assemblies.

Each Term, the Well-being Ambassadors will focus on one of the six ways to well-being and link it to our values:

PERSERVERANCE   KINDNESS   LOVE OF LEARNING   CREATIVITY   TEAM   COURAGE

This Term, the focus is on 'giving' and linking this to our value of kindness.  Please do ask your children about the activities and learning they are taking part in.
