INSET DAY – NO CHILDREN IN SCHOOL
Dear Parents/Carers,
It has been wonderful to welcome our new Foundation Stage children and families to school this week. I have been so impressed by how well they have settled and become familiar with their school routines.
I am excited that our work on the artificial grass is also nearly finished. Thank you for your patience as we complete this important work on improving the grounds for our children.
Our school value this term is PERSEVERANCE and the children have been exploring what it means to them to persevere. I am pleased to say that we have already had many children receiving a silver values certificate due to their consistent demonstration of all six values - what an asset they are to you and our school!
I am looking forward to the term ahead as we are now starting to implement some improved teaching and learning resources. It is an exciting time to be at SPS!
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
Best wishes,
Mrs Malone
Head Teacher
Sevenoaks Primary School Vacancy
Midday Supervisor – 1 ½ hours per day, term-time only. Closing date: Friday 4th October. Interviews w/c Monday 7th October.
Details of the role and an application form can be found on Kent-Teach.com and Indeed.com
Volunteers
Thank you to all our volunteers who help around the school in various capacities. We would like to let you know that Miss Durkin, Deputy Head Teacher, will be holding an Induction Day for volunteers – date to be advised.
Parking On-Site
May we politely remind everyone that the car park is for staff and agreed visitors. Unless pre-arranged with the school, we are unable to let parents/carers park on-site. We have limited space available and must ensure a safe environment for children, staff and visitors.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
PE Lessons
If your child needs to be excused from a PE lesson, we ask that you inform the class teacher in writing, before the lesson.
Thank you.
Breakfast Club Drop-Off
It is lovely to see so many children bouncing into our popular Breakfast Club in the mornings! Please ensure your child is escorted to the double doors of Breakfast Club and not dropped off at the main gates - especially our little ones in Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2.
Phase 1: PE Kit
Please note that children in Phase 1 (Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2) DO NOT need the following items in their PE kit:
- NO mouthguards
- NO shin pads
- NO football boots

Lost Property: New System and Volunteers Needed!
Starting this term, we have a new system in place.
In the first instance, we strongly urge parents and carers to please ensure all your child’s belongings are clearly named so that they can be easily returned to their owner. Any named items found will be put into the black Lost Property containers located in the main corridors, next to the classrooms, for children to collect. Unnamed and unclaimed items will be sent to the SPSA Second Hand Uniform Shop at the end of each term. This will include unnamed water bottles and packed lunch boxes.
We are extremely lucky to have two fantastic parent volunteers, Mrs Tyrrell-Clark and Mrs Silcox, who kindly sort Lost Property (and will continue to do so) on a regular basis.
Please remember, if it is named, it will be reunited with its owner!
Thank you for your continued support.
20’s Plenty Petition: Update
Thank you to everyone who signed the 20’s Plenty Petition. We are pleased to say that over 1100 signatures were collected via our Sevenoaks Primary School campaign. St John’s Primary School also collected over 1000 signatures.
Both petitions were presented to the Joint Transportation Board at their meeting yesterday evening.
Watch this space for further updates!
