Year 2

Continuing our Dragon theme, Year 2 have been creating amazing dragon-inspired masterpieces!
We used oil pastels to draw dragons' eyes. Don't you think they look striking?
We also planned and considered the method and materials for building our own egg-box dragons...
Year 2's learning doesn't stop when they leave the classroom!
We are very lucky to have a number of school trips, special visitors, and even Forest School.
So far this year we have discovered all about worms, wasps, earwigs and other marvelous minibeasts!

A lot of Year 2's Maths involves the use of hands-on learning and manipulatives.
To help us think about Place Value, we have used Diennes blocks, counting animals and chalk drawings to name a few!
We are very lucky to be joined by some Special Guests over the course of Year 2.
Our expert visitors help us think about Science, History, Geography and so much more.
Recently we were visited by an animal expert who taught us all about how to care for our animals.
Year 2 were excited to meet a leopard gecko, an African land snail, some fancy rats, a corn snake, a hissing cockroach and a HUGE millipede!
We even got to hold some of them...
