Snow Day Activities

Ideas for learning activities during SPS closure:

  • Create a "snowy day" picture using a variety of materials
  • Sledging/build a snowman
  • Baking healthy food - perhaps showing children how to make soup
  • Stories - watch/listen/read with discussions of likes and dislikes
  • Discussions about the snow and then link to the different forms of water
  • How does sledging work?  Link to basic forces and what makes them
  • Discussions about the weather, how does it make you feel?
  • Take a photograph of a snow scene and explain what you like about it
  • Look out of your window and draw what you see
  • Write an imaginative 'snow' story/create a newspaper article on snow or keep a diary of what you have been up to in the snow
  • Create a short script based on "A Winter Story".  This could be shared with your class when we are back!
  • Design a sledge work- Design a fast or slow sledge- what did you choose and why?
