Snow Day Activities
Ideas for learning activities during SPS closure:
- Create a "snowy day" picture using a variety of materials
- Sledging/build a snowman
- Baking healthy food - perhaps showing children how to make soup
- Stories - watch/listen/read with discussions of likes and dislikes
- Discussions about the snow and then link to the different forms of water
- How does sledging work? Link to basic forces and what makes them
- Discussions about the weather, how does it make you feel?
- Take a photograph of a snow scene and explain what you like about it
- Look out of your window and draw what you see
- Write an imaginative 'snow' story/create a newspaper article on snow or keep a diary of what you have been up to in the snow
- Create a short script based on "A Winter Story". This could be shared with your class when we are back!
- Design a sledge work- Design a fast or slow sledge- what did you choose and why?
General Activities
- Revisit phonic sounds/ spelling words already covered to date (using online books set by class teachers)
- Maths/Problem Solving Activities – can you create a snow related maths game?
- Play counting on games such as Snakes and Ladders, Dominos

Snow Creativity
We are very busy clearing the snow to make it safe to open, our lovely staff did take a quick break to build us our very own SPS Snowman!
