Attendance

Sevenoaks Primary School is committed to the continuous raising of achievement of all our pupils. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them.

Attendance Information

What to do if your child is unable to attend school  -

If your child is unwell or unable to attend school, please notify us as soon as possible, preferably by emailing absence@sevenoaks.kent.sch.uk stating your child’s name, class and reason for absence, ideally before 9am on the day of absence.  It is not necessary to write an absence note if you have used our email address.

Alternatively, please telephone the school office (01732 453952) to report the absence, selecting Option 1 on the answer phone.  If you have telephoned the school to report an absence, a note explaining the reason is required when your child returns to school.

If a child is very ill they should remain absent from school until they are fully recovered (at least 48 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea).

We understand that children may also have to attend medical or dental appointments in school time, however, could you please endeavour to make routine dental or medical appointments during the school holidays or after school.

Sarah White, Assistant Head Teacher is responsible for monitoring attendance at our school.

Please find our Attendance Policy here in our Policy library.

Please see our Attendance Leaflet which includes term dates and information on how to report absences.

If you have any queries regarding attendance, please contact our Attendance Officer, Alison Potter.
