Extended Learning

Effective partnership with parents and carers is vital to children’s enjoyment and success at school. At each stage of your child’s education, we actively seek ways to communicate with you and share ideas about how to support your child’s learning.

Weekly home learning messages (Foundation and Key Stage One) and homework activities will give you an insight into the current learning taking place in the classroom.  Children making use of the school’s reading schemes are also provided with a reading record in which you can share progress or note any difficulties.

In addition to parent consultations, the school also holds Open Afternoons and Evenings to allow you to come into school, view your child’s work and chat to staff.  Teachers are also happy to make appointments at other times should there be a matter of particular concern.

Regular Family Learning sessions are held to help our parents keep up not just with the ever evolving curriculum but also with the ways in which it is being taught and what you can do to support your child’s learning. Resources from our Family Learning sessions are available on our website.

The links on this page are by no means exhaustive but we hope will provide a useful start in supporting your child’s home learning.
