Dear Parents/Carers,

After seventy gruelling, but ultimately, rewarding miles, Mr Newman and I finally completed ‘The Long Walk Home’. It was quite an emotional journey and I was accompanied for the last leg of the walk by my daughter. I have always made a point to keep home and school separate, but it seemed only fitting that she join me for the last walk.

The weather was amazing, the scenery breath-taking and the kind words and donations made the sore feet and legs bearable. I would like to thank all of the children who took part in their very own challenge and to the parents and friends who contributed to the JustGiving site. We currently have close to £7000, which will increase to £14,000 after the match funding. That will mean, at a very rough calculation, that the three walks will have generated close to £130,000.

The majority has been targeted to the New Build Fund but the £14,000 will be used to improve the grounds and making the children’s play experience ‘epic’!

Secondary School Open Days/Evenings!
This is a busy time of year for Secondary School Open Days and Evenings and new dates are being added most weeks. If your child is in Years 5 or 6, please take a look at
on our school website for further information regarding dates and times. We update the information on a regular basis, so be sure to keep an eye on the website!
Some of you may have noticed that we have a new member of staff. She is small, fluffy, adorable and her name is NELLIE!
There are considerable benefits from having a school dog and we are extremely pleased that Mrs Doleman, our Admissions Officer, has agreed to bring in Nellie, her 2 year old Cavapoo, for this role.
Nellie passed her assessment with Beeching Animal Behaviour Consultancy with flying colours and has been learning lots of things in order to get her ready for being in school. If you have any questions, please take a look at our Reading and Therapy Dog Policy on the school website.
Nellie is keen to stay in touch so look out for her ‘pupdates’ and ‘paws for thought’ in future newsletters!

Data Collection Sheets and Photo Permission Forms

A polite reminder! Data Collection sheets and Photo Permission forms must be returned to the School Office by Monday, 8th October. Children will not be able to have their photograph taken by Van Cols if we do not have these forms returned.
Thank you!
We have two more Theme Days coming up with special menus for the children to enjoy:
  • Wednesday 17th October
    • Indian Day
  • Monday 5th November
    • Bonfire Night
Take a look at the menus on our school website.
National Road Census:
18th October
On behalf of the Department of Transport, a company called Tracsis will be conducting a traffic count on Bradbourne Road (between Camden Road and Amherst Road)
from 7am to 7pm.
The people carrying out the traffic count will be parked in Bradbourne Road – they will display a yellow sign in the window of the car for identification purposes.

Our new Scholastic Book Club is up and running! Go to http://schools.scholastic.co.uk/sevenoaks-tn13-3lb to browse the latest books and order online. For every £1 you spend on this month’s Book Club, our school will earn 25p in Scholastic Rewards.
Please place your order online by November 2nd, 2018.
The children are using their spare, ‘outdoors’ shoes at playtimes. With this in mind, do you have any old shoes at home that you could donate to the SPSA Uniform Shop?
Parents/carers will be able to purchase these shoes in return for a £1 donation to the SPSA.
A bargain!
If you can help, please leave your shoes, WEARABLE ONLY! in the box, outside the Studio.

Thank you!

The Uniform Shop will be open this
Friday, 5th October from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
Midday Supervisor vacancies
The school has midday supervisor vacancies available. The hours are 1.5 per day, term time only.

Homework – school email address
Finished the homework? Good job! Please send all homework to the school email address:
Please label the file with your child’s first name/surname/class. Thank you!

School Emails – any problems?

Email is the school’s main form of communication - it is a great way of instantly sharing important information with everyone and sending out school event information and letters.

We understand that some parents/carers have experienced issues receiving them, recently. If you have had problems, it may have been that we did not have the most up-to-date, or correct, email address. If you have not already done so, please check the details on your Data Collection Sheet that was recently sent out to all parents/carers. We will then update our database.

Additionally, please ensure that emails from sevenoaks@scopay.com are not going into the junk folder by adding this address to your safe senders/approved senders list.

Finally, please check that you did not click unsubscribe. Under the GDPR guidelines, if you have clicked unsubscribe, we are no longer allowed to e-mail you from Tucasi as we no longer have your consent. If you think you may have clicked ‘Unsubscribe’, please contact Mrs Farmar in the Finance Office via payments@sevenoaks.kent.sch.uk to let her know and the school will issue a new link.

Thank you!
